The purpose of the EOY Writing Prompt is to give teachers a chance to reflect on the writing instruction they have provided this year.  They will use the IDOE Writing Rubric to norm on scoring grade level writing and analyze their students’ ability to write proficiently on grade level.  Finally, we expect this prompt will spark discussion around what has been accomplished this year, and what our teachers hope to accomplish next year.  

These writing prompts are designed to be given in a one-hour setting much like the writing prompt from ISTEP.  Teachers can use how they want to review these with students, however we have provided some options that coaches can use in PLCs with their teachers.
